UNDIP, Semarang (16/6) – The Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), welcomed a visit from the Indonesian Aviation Electronics and Electrical Technician Association (IAEETA). The visit followed up on a cooperation agreement signed in April.
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce further the Professional Engineer Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP. The event was attended by the Head of PSPPI Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Widayat, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., along with representatives from the Central Executive Board (DPP) of IAEETA.
IAEETA Chairman Novel emphasized the association’s commitment to enhancing its members’ competencies through professional engineering education. According to him, the program will help IAEETA members become highly qualified professionals in Indonesia’s aviation electronics and electrical sectors.
“The motivation and enthusiasm among our members to pursue the engineering profession are quite high. Therefore, we are currently consolidating efforts within the central board to implement this collaboration, enabling IAEETA members to become highly professional individuals and further improve their competencies in the workplace,” he said.
Novel added that the interest among IAEETA members in joining the program has been very strong. This enthusiasm serves as a positive indicator for both parties as they move forward with the partnership.
“Many of our members have already registered. We hope that the first batch can begin in the near future and be followed by subsequent batches,” he explained.
The event featured a presentation by the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering UNDIP on the Professional Engineer Program in Indonesia, particularly at UNDIP. Discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration in other areas, including research and community service.
Novel expressed hope that this partnership would serve as an initial breakthrough for IAEETA in collaborating with educational institutions to improve the quality of its human resources.
“I hope this becomes an important first step for our association in partnering with educational institutions, where, through this collaboration, we can build synergy and cooperation to enhance the competence and professionalism of IAEETA members,” he stated.
The visit marked a shared commitment between the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP as an educational institution and its industry partner to produce professional engineers who are well-prepared to compete in the workforce. It is expected that, in the future, more highly qualified engineers graduating from the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP will contribute to the advancement of the nation.
