UNDIP, Semarang (12/5) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss strategies to optimize and strengthen the governance of the Diponegoro Endowment Fund(Dana Abadi Diponegoro/DAD). The event took place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 12:30 PM in the Rector’s Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Widya Puraya Building at the UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
The FGD was attended by UNDIP’s leadership and management team, representatives from a Public Accounting Firm (KAP), and the Deputy Head of the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) Business and Endowment Fund Management Agency (BPUDL). The discussion reflected UNDIP’s commitment to optimizing the management of the Diponegoro Endowment Fund to support the Tridharma of Higher Education: education, community service, and research.
In his remarks, the Chair of the UNDIP Board of Trustees (MWA), Prof. Mohamad Nasir, M.Si., Akt., Ph.D., stated that an endowment fund can be managed efficiently when supported by a sound governance system. “From my observations, if an endowment fund is managed properly, it does not require a large number of personnel. As a result, operational costs can remain efficient, especially in an era that emphasizes efficiency,” said Prof. Nasir.
Meanwhile, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that amid current economic challenges, the Diponegoro Endowment Fund should be utilized optimally to support the university’s educational, research, and community service missions while strengthening institutional independence. “In this era of efficiency, the Diponegoro Endowment Fund serves as a means of fostering university independence so that we are no longer heavily dependent on the state budget. We hope it can be utilized effectively to support education, community service, and research,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
He also welcomed input from various stakeholders to strengthen the fund’s oversight and governance mechanisms. “We welcome insights and recommendations from different parties, including opportunities to learn from ITB’s experience in managing its endowment fund program,” he added.
The FGD began with a presentation by Endang Pramuwati, S.E., M.Ak., CA., CPA., representing a Public Accounting Firm, who delivered a session titled “Endowment Fund Governance from the Perspective of Accounting Compliance and Internal Control.”
The event continued with a sharing session on best practices in managing ITB’s Endowment Fund, presented by Ir. Hary Devianto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt., Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, Assets, Business, and General Affairs. This FGD forms part of UNDIP’s broader commitment to optimizing the governance of the Diponegoro Endowment Fund to strengthen institutional independence and support the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
