UNDIP, Malaysia (10/6) – Ahmad Salman Faadhillah, a student from the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Diponegoro (FK UNDIP), achieved outstanding success by winning a Gold Medal and being named 1st Winner at the 5th International Youth Summit (IYS) 2026, organized by the Sentosa Foundation in collaboration with the Center of Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), on May 30–31, 2026.
The international competition, themed “Youth Contributions to Global Influence on International Policy Through Innovation,” served as a platform for young people to present innovative solutions to global challenges through impactful research and idea development. In this competition, Ahmad Salman Faadhillah developed an innovation that integrates several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The project was developed in collaboration with a student from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), combining perspectives from health, environmental sustainability, and public policy.

Ahmad Salman Faadhillah, a student at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (FK UNDIP), and his collaborators from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, won the Gold Medal and the title of First Place Winner at the 5th International Youth Summit (IYS) 2026, held at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
At the initial stage of the competition, all participants presented scientific posters across nine thematic categories. Through this presentation, Salman’s project earned a Gold Medal in the Food category, securing a place in the final round.
In the final stage, participants presented their innovations before a panel of eight judges, competing for the top awards. Thanks to the quality of the innovation, its relevance to global issues, and Salman’s excellent presentation skills, he was awarded 1st Winner, outperforming more than 100 entries from participants around the world.
This achievement demonstrates how interdisciplinary collaboration can generate innovative solutions to today’s global challenges. Ahmad Salman Faadhillah’s success also highlights the capacity of Indonesian students—particularly those from the Faculty of Medicine at UNDIP—to contribute strategic ideas that support the achievement of sustainable development goals at the international level.
